Muslim Prayer Nudge ("the App") is developed and operated by Battuta Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Prayer preferences and settings — gender, notification preferences, and other onboarding choices you enter. Stored locally on your device.
- Prayer logs — records of prayers you mark as completed, snoozed, or missed. Stored locally on your device.
Information Collected Automatically
Location Data
- The App requests access to your device's location solely to calculate accurate Islamic prayer times for your geographic area.
- Location data is used only on-device and is not transmitted to our servers or sold to third parties.
- You may deny location permission; the App will still function using a manually entered location.
Anonymous Usage Data
- The App uses Firebase (Google) for anonymous authentication. A random anonymous identifier is generated automatically — no name, email, or personal information is associated with it.
- If you use the Prayer Circle feature, your prayer status updates are synced to Firebase Firestore under your anonymous identifier.
Purchase Data
- If you subscribe to premium features, purchases are processed through RevenueCat and the platform's app store. We do not collect or store your payment information directly. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase and subscription data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- Your precise location history or location data outside of prayer time calculation
- Any data for advertising purposes
How We Use Information
We use collected information only to:
- Calculate accurate prayer times for your location
- Deliver prayer reminder notifications at appropriate times
- Sync your prayer circle status with other circle members (if you join a circle)
- Process and verify in-app subscription entitlements
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.
Data Storage and Security
- Personal prayer logs and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage (Hive). We do not have access to this data.
- Prayer Circle data synced to Firebase is stored on Google's servers and protected under Google's security practices.
- We implement reasonable technical measures to protect information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Data Retention
- Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data.
- Firebase anonymous account data is retained until deleted. You may request deletion by contacting us.
- RevenueCat retains purchase records per their data retention policy.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access information associated with your anonymous account
- Request deletion of your Firebase anonymous account data
- Opt out of location access via your device settings at any time
- Disable notifications via your device settings at any time

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Disclaimer of Liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Battuta Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruption. Use of the App is at your sole risk.
Prayer time calculations are estimates based on standard astronomical methods and your location. Battuta Labs LLC makes no representations regarding the accuracy of prayer times for religious or legal purposes.
